Hei Hei, It's Lei Lei's Birthday Party!

From Hawaiian decor, to Moana themed food, custom cookies and cake pops and even a special guest visitor. Leila's second birthday party was nothing short of amazing. Surrounded by our family and her favorite people, we celebrate her in the most fun way.

Daddy told momma to not go all out for this....so that's exactly what she did. OOPS!

Decorating the house was something I had been planning for MONTHS in my head. I knew exactly how I wanted it to be and lost many nights of sleep dreaming it up. I wanted photos of the past year of her life surrounding us. her smiles, her silliness. Anything that reminded us all of how special she is. Including her special Moana themed photoshoot I did down by the river!

If you haven't guessed it yet, the spelling of her name "Leila" came from a Hawaiian Lei, so it was only fitting to have our guests dressed up in Lei's!

Coming up with ideas for food was a blast. Mostly because we have watched the movie hundreds of times. Pua pork sandwiches, Pua pigs in a blanket, Hei Hei nuggets, Driftwood pretzels, boat snacks, Te Ka lava cheetos, Kakamora cake pops, a beautifully put together charcuterie board by @saltandhoneyconm, and custom cookies by @jampackedsweets.

Our table, chair and tent rentals were all from Simply Decor Tents and Events. They were so easy to work with and it was a much needed addition to the party to be able to seat everyone. We have a rather large family and few close friends that ended up totalling to over 50 people.

To keep the kids entertained we had fun moana sticker activities with characters and giving them faces at each table. All of our backyard toys that Leila enjoys on a daily basis were well used by the littles and Lei had a blast sharing and having them there with her. I painted a Tamatoa Crab canvas as a keep sake and had guests decorate it with stickers and gems to make it "shiny".

Our favorite part of the whole day was most definitely having "Miss Moana" as Leila called her. If you are considering hiring princesses for your littles party, DO IT! It was so worth it and seeing the joy on Lei's face was the absolute best part of her birthday. Moana danced with them, sang a song with Leila, read a book with her, and presented her with a sash and crown. It was magical.

We used Fairytale Princesses Events for our special guest hire and she was incredible. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Postpartum Depression. The painful truth.

Before you begin reading, please understand how unfortunately common this is for momma’s to experience. I have hesitated sharing my story...
